Does not work on pages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great catch. It does indeed work in Pages. However, Pages has it’s own Automatic Correction system. If you want to use the system text substitutions then go to Pages preferences and choose the Auto-correciton tab. There is a checkbox in there called “Symbol and text substitution.” Check that off and it will work.
